Broomfield Mill, Essex
Posted on May 10, 2016
Well it was the hottest day of the year so far and we decided to go out and enjoy it somewhere new (but not too far away.)
After consulting Essex Walks.com for some help on local footpaths, we rounded-up the kids and headed up to Broomfield for a picnic by the river Chelmer. We had a lovely stomp, following the river through fields and woodland with the kids chattering away and barely bickering at all!
We ate our sandwiches sat amongst the buttercups, watching nature being natural, then headed back to the Mill for a paddle to cool down.
It's very pretty around here, I didn't know this place existed. You can get away from all the traffic and the sirens and still have the bulk of Broomfield Hospital right in front of you across the fields, but all around you is green and calm.
